Final Output for the final project.

Here's a video of our final project for this class. As shown in the video, users can interact with the buttons using motion detection. A touch on the buttons will trigger the application to slide to another picture.

Users will decide on the story in this application. It depends on them to see it from different perspective. It can be as simple as a child that wants to be free from home, from any curfew from their parents or as complicated as a citizen that wants a change to the country, or fleeing away and throw their citizenship.

Ideation:

1. Using a camera to to detect movement in front the camera.
2. Story slide as the user interacts with the icon using movement.

Story:

Human right
- to have a private life
- the right to be free
- to have the freedom to make own decision in life
Freedom
- gain freedom as the bird escape from the cage and fly away from the house.
Grounded
- not allow to be free, eg. the bird cannot fly freely
Controlled behaviour
- occupation of another power
Curfew
- getting out the system
- the bird is caged

Why Bird is used?

- caged bird symbolizes a controlled freedom, within inspection
- a symbols of freedom
- symbolizes a person, child , society
- innocent beings

Improvement:

Using Depth Camera (eg.: Microsoft Xbox Kinect Sensor Camera) that recognize human gesture to interact with the story. for example, swipe left or right for the pages of the story instead of using button.

In National Visual Art Gallery (NVAG), i was impressed by this artwork by Sulaiman Esa.

at the first glance, i was wondering why is an empty bird cage doing here. But after some thought, it gave me an idea of leaving burden behind us, and go seek for our freedom (future).

when i see the title of this artwork, it gave me another feeling. I have the feeling like when children grow up, parents will allow them to leave home, but they didn't come back home, leave the home empty. now days, when teenagers grown up, they will leave their home for work or even further education, their home feel empty (lonely). A bird cage without bird looks similar to a home without people.
